God Moments by John & Cindy Mortimer: Our 1st. Grand Child, Sadie, came to us on May 28th. We were happy but also sadden as while John and I were in Peru, South America she was fighting for her life in Tennessee, USA. We found out her Liver, Kidneys were shutting down and along with many other problems she had bleeding on the brain too. They put a cooling cap on her head for 72 hours to preserve her Brain Cells that hadn’t died yet. They put her into an induced Coma and Vince & Megan were not allowed to touch her. They wanted no stimulus to her brain. (Interesting note: Drs. and Nurses could touch her but not her parents as she would know them.) She was at the Children’s Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Many prayers went up around the world for our little Sadie. John and I were able to fly there as soon as possible. When we arrived we saw Vince. He greeted us and then said, ” I don’t know what this means but the Lord keeps laying on my heart the number 9. I don’t know if it means 9 min., 9 hours, 9 Years, etc.” We were able to go in and lay hands on our little blessing and pray for her as they had just taken the cooling cap off of her and had brought her out of the coma. Her little face was still wet and red from the cap and her little body just trembled on and off. I asked the nurse if the trembling would stop but she didn’t know. We all watched each day as little Sadie kept fighting for her little life. The Drs. and Nurses did what they could but each passing day they didn’t give Vince and Megan much hope. They told them in their terms she would pretty much be a Vegetable. Not being able to Walk, Talk, See, Hear, Run, Play, etc. and would always have to have Medicine. We continued to keep Believing for her Healing. Knowing many of you were touching Heaven too. We continued to lay hands on her and Pray for her healing. As we were there the spirit of Death was upon that place. We came against it and we’re able to pray for many of the children and their families that were there. Before our eyes Sadie was getting better and also many of the little babies we were able to pray for. (More Stories) Each day we’d meet up with Vince and Megan as they were able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. (What a Blessing that place was. So much Stress on these Mommies and Daddies. For $5.00 a day they had Delicious food and a Beautiful place to stay right by the Children’s Hospital.) One day when John and I arrived at the Hospital we found out that they were letting Sadie leave. Megan turned to me and said, “Do you know what Today is?” I said, No. She looked at me and said, “It’s the 9th.” As in June 9th. God told Vince the day that Sadie would be able to leave the Hospital. And get this, With No Medicine either. We were thrilled to say the least. Praising God!!! A few years have gone on now since all this has happened. As she has been growing we continued to watch the Mile Stones in her life. Seeing, Hearing, Crawling, Walking, etc. We have rejoiced with each step. She is a Walking, Talking Miracle. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. For those of you that joined with us in Prayer know first hand this story. We can’t Thank You enough for walking these Steps of Faith with us.
